This year has been a true whirlwind of excitement and new adventures for British Bindi. We’ve really begun to find our voices as bloggers and how we see British Bindi developing as a platform. We’re extremely proud of the projects we have coming up, as we start to explore further and dig deeper around topics about the South Asian diaspora in the UK (keep a look out for these!).

Our Suprise Nomination!

British Bindi has been established for over a year now, so we were really stunned to find out we were nominated for ‘Best Blog’ in the Asian Media Awards 2017. If you follow our social media channels, you might have already caught up with all the action from our night at the ceremony – but we thought we’d also post our highlights of this amazing event through this blog.

We didn’t win…

…but we’re still so humbled to have been nominated, especially against some pretty amazing blogs too. It was a night full of celebration for diversity within the Media industry, the Asian Media Awards did a spectacular job showcasing many inspiring achievements from the year. It’s great that these awards give a chance for everyone involved to be recognised for their work, importantly, even more so considering the culture barriers some face when entering the Media industries.

And of course, to end this blog, we had to feature one of our favourite group activities… our obligatory Instagram boomerangs! Thanks for everyone’s support so far in our blogging journey, we’re met so many incredible people and received heaps of support.
